Help didn't match, old img:(

YOG: 2007 grad
step 1: 203
step 2: 228
CS: pass, 1st attempt
step 3 :212
Visa: not required
4 US LORS
Hands-on usce : 5 months and ongoing with different physicians in clinics, affiliated to teaching hospitals
No research experience, applied mostly to IM and few FM, got 5 med iv and 1 fm iv but didn't match though interviews re good and PDs did assure me that they will rank me high.

So now I don't know what to do, should I apply next year only in FM and do few rotations with family physician or look for research options or do observer ship in Teaching Hospital? I have 6 months, so please any suggestions. Do FM will consider me as I have all my rotation in IM? Should I also apply in ped?
Also should I get California letter? I heard it isn't worth the amount and time as they aren't IMG friendly? I did have rotation in FM and Psychiatry.

you have no passion for peds or you would have at least 2 month in ped, IM your mark is good for some community programs. FM you could try, to make sure you have 1 FM LOR.

I think if you had IV you need to improve your IV skills, if you did not, there is something worng with your application. 2007 is not too old.

Thank you Shima for your suggestion. Well I am not that interested in Peds and I guess, all my previous rotation in medicine would be against my Peds application. Well regarding iv skills, couple of interviewers told me that I have a good communication skills. I don't know why they didn't rank me high enough as few of them did send me an email that they will rank me in a competitive position. May be most of the places where I was interviewed, had limited seats n were filled before I got a chance. 5 year since graduation isn't old img?

Also can u please tell me about getting into research? Is it like I should look for a research assistant? If yes, can I get my name published by working as RA? Or Online Publication is something different then research?
