Question Electronic LOR - 2014 Match Changes

Guys i was wondering about the new way to send LOR to ECFMG/ERAS.

http://www.ecfmg.org/news/2013/02/04....PumffcLm.dpbs
See attached File.

So i'm doing my Clerkships and would like to get LOR, but i'm going to apply in 2015 match. so i dont have this AAMC number or MyEras account.
Also ECFMG says: " International Medical Schools Can Use ECFMG’s EMSWP Through the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP) ERAS program, international medical schools can electronically submit Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs), medical school transcripts, and letters of recommendation (LoRs) on behalf of their students and graduates who participate in ERAS. Participating schools can also track receipt of ERAS supporting documents by ECFMG and verify the ERAS registration activity of their students and graduates."

So can i get the Paper of LOR and send it then from My Med.Scholl through EMSWP?

how (electornic?) i'm i supposed to get the LOR now to use it in 2015 match?

any ideas about that?

I asked them about it. You ARE allowed to upload letters on your own, even if your school participates in EMSWP. But notice that letters are considered not waived.

If I were you I'd arrange my clerkships in such a way you'd get the LORs the same year your applying for the match(2014). Getting an LOR now will show the programs how you were 2 years ago and thus not hold much weight. But if you don't really have an option other than getting it now than get it. I'm not familiar with the new changes their bringing to the system so I'm not much help on that part. Anyways best of luck

I think u should get your printed LOR now, so that you can upload a scanned soft copy to ERAS when u apply. If u want it to be a waived letter, u can still get this letter and send the soft copy to the Author when u ask for a direct ERAS upload from him/her just as a reminder of all the good things they wrote about u. If I were u I would most certainly get a letter know, cuz all the good deeds u did could be forgotten in a year, which increses the probability of a hurried, regular LOR when u ask for it then.
