Unhappy Scored 216 in Step 1

I knew I felt bad after the exam but after getting the score today was like a kick in the gut.

I got a 216. Does that seriously limit the residency choices and chance of match?

I knew was not ready but I took my exam anyways.

you need to get 230+ on step 2 CK.

reality , as you could see, these days everyone has over 230+.

you would be in a disadvantage but is better than failing. SO be happy and thankful you passed. do better for step 2 CK and you should get like 5-6 IV in that one field.

Now if you PASS step 3 you will add 2-3 more IV

If you pass step 3 and add 3 month USCE for sure you are matched.

try to find observerships your self, not some company offering you doctors offices to hang out in.

Default assessment scores

Can you please tell me how you did on your assessment exams? And can you also tell me more or less how much you think you got wrong per blocked or how much you flagged. I just took my exam and I feel like I did really bad. Please let me know as soon as possible. Congrats on the pass!

If you already took your exam don't worry about it now. There is literally nothing you can do about it. But to answer your question, I marked roughly 7-8 on average per block.

Default Scores

Your scores are what you make of them. Don't let this one get in your way. I got 216 on my Step 1 and 244 on CK, and I have 13 interviews so far for IM, several from good university programs. Try to do as many rotations as you can, LORs matter a LOT!!

Default Guidance needed

Hi guys, im totally new to this forum...n decided to register with u guys since i was feeling totally broken and depressed: i got my step 1 result today...a 206...im in utter shock to tell u the truth none of my nbme scores predicted this outcome some one plz guide me and help me in this situation -

I am an IMG graduated in mid 2012, took step 1 -206, studying currently for step 2ck, my step 1 nbme form 15 (570), form 13 (470), uworld qbank (96th percentile) - i literally spent 1.5 years studying for step 1 to aim for a 250....

Is there any way i can get a residency for the 2015 match? I have no US electives/rotations/research/LOR's...i feel like my life has totally like fallen apart and im at a total loss on what to do n how to pick up the pieces...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated: thanx

I have 205 step 1 and 229 step 2 CK. Still waiting for my CS results and yet I'm getting Child Neurology invites.
Just make sure that you have as much USCE as possible. I have 14 months of those (including hospital settings, sub-acute rehab centers, private offices and medical groups). That's what the programs care about the most! Research would also be a good idea but it's not that easy to get into.
