Second interview was at Saint Barnabas New Jersey.
Interview invite received : November
Pre interview dinner : No
Accommodation provided : No
Interview reminder : Yes.
Location : 90 minutes from New York penn station. Easy commute.
Interview day : Was suppose to start at 8 am. Started at 7 45 am. There were 6 other interviewees . Lunch provided. Day ended by 2 pm. Hospital tour was after interview for half of us.
Number of interviewer's : 2 interviews with one interviewer each. Each lasting only 5 minutes.
Medical Questions asked : No
Did the PD interview you : No but he had a brief discussion with everyone together.
Post interview communication : Yes , in response to thank you email.
Prematch offered : No
Impression : Good program located in Livingston. No in house fellowships but great fellowship placement. Program director and faculty seemed nice. Residents were all very happy. The program in all I feel is a very good program but lacks in house fellowships. Also there are rumours of patients not allowing interns to examine them. I don't know how true they are.

My fourth interview was at Saint Francis hospital Evanston.
Interview invite received : October
Pre interview dinner : No
Accommodation provided : No
Interview Reminder : 3 weeks and 1 week before
Location : Located in the out skirts of chicago. Had stayed at Best Western Evanston. Travelling to and fro from hotel via public transit system. Easy to locate. Far away from chicago ohare airport. You can take the PACE BUS from ohare to reach Evanston.( Its the cheapest mode of transport )
Interview day : Started at 7 am sharp. Started with morning rounds then breakfast with current residents. It was followed by hospital tour then interview. The day was done by 2 pm. Lunch coupons were given. There were 15 to 20 other interviewees.
Number of interviews : Only one by assistant PD
Medical questions asked : No
Did the PD interview you : No
Post interview communication : Only from program coordinator in response to thank you email.
Prematch offered : Not Applicable.
Impression : Good program. Good location. Does not have in house fellowships but great fellowship opportunities. Laid back program. This is what I didn't like about it. The program is filled with almost all IMGs. Also I think the teaching is not upto the mark here but this is what I felt don't quote me on this. The residents all appeared happy.

It's really nice of you to have posted such detailed accounts of each of your interviews.... I'm sure the good you put out will come back to you in some way or the other! God bless!

P.S. I don't know if I missed it in the post, but have you matched this year?

I was not offered any prematch. Frankly I don't know what they expect of you in an interview. I assume contacts are your best credential for prematches. My advice is if you have great ivs lined up you should not accept any prematches.

Did the PD interview you : Yes
Post interview communication : yes in response to thank you email. Received a letter from PD to my home address. It was personalised to some extent.
Prematch offered : Not Applicable
Impression : Good program with great fellowship opportunities in house as well as elsewhere. Program had many carribean IMGs. Friendy people everywhere. Good camaraderie among residents. I was really impressed. Excellent research opportunities.

Great ivs in the sense from good places as all the programs which offer prematches are not that good
Also after an interview you cannot really tell how your interview went as every applicant will have the same feeling of performing well. One way of judging that is based on post interview communication but some programs do have a strict policy of no communication. If you are really interested in a program you can let them know about it. If you really like a prematch program I advice you to keep in touch with them even after you send a thank you email. Hope this helps

My last interview was at Cleveland clinic foundation Ohio.
Interview invite received : January
Pre interview dinner : No
Accommodation provided : No but the provide 50 dollar discount if you stay at Intercontinental.
Interview reminder : 1 week before
Location : In Cleveland. I stayed at Intercontinental which is connected to the hospital. Had to book a cab from the airport to the hotel which costed around 50 dollars .
Interview day : Started at 7 am sharp with program introduction by the PD. This was followed by 2 interviews and then the hospital tour. This was followed by an awesome lunch at the intercontinental. The day was done by 3 pm.
Number of interviews : 2. One by faculty member and other by program director of primary care . They had paired my interview with a faculty member from the field of my interest so I had a lot to discuss with him.
Medical questions asked : No
Did the PD interview you : No but he had some time off after the day when I had the chance to meet him.
Post interview communication : A very detailed reply from the faculty and the PD in response to thank you email.
Prematch offered : No
Impression : Well reputed hospital. Good fellowship opportunities. Excellent research opportunities. The hospital had some good artwork on the wall. Something a art lover would like. Good and a busy place. Something I like.

Hi... Thanks a lot for the great post!

I have a question - you said that you applied thirteen days late but with a complete application. Could I know what are the plus points of doing that, over, applying on time with an incomplete application, but updating the application soon after ( for ex. After the same thirteen days)? I would really appreciate it if you could let us know what your reasoning process or insights were.
Thanks in advance. All the best
