Certificate LoRs this year but applying next year for Match 2015

Hi,

I've been looking for this because I am worried. I just recently read the new way to upload LORs in the ERAS system, that indicates me that in the moment you are applying for the Match you will have to send letters request and the writers will send directly to ERAS or to you Dean's office.
The problem is that I am planning to apply the next year (I 'll be putting all the documents on August or Sept 2014 for the Match 2015), and I will be getting some LORs in the next months. How can I get those LORs to be include in my application of next year???
I read somewhere I could have my ERAS token before, it means this year so I could ask those LORs now, upload them this year and saved them for next year. I want to know if that actually could be done and how will be the process exactly??
By the other hand, I also read that the ERAS token that you buy is for ERAS season, so if I'd buy it now it will be for the next match, which I am not yet applying.
I am very confused of all the alternatives I could do for my problem.
Please any guidence or advice will be welcome.

Steph

Is there no one with an answer to this question? Sounds like a common problem.

You cannot buy a token this year and use it next year. Tokens are only available for the current season.

You have two options:
Wait until next season and only then ask the LoR writers to upload the waived LoRs (they'll say that they observed you last year).
OR
Take the unwaived LoR from them now and keep it with you and then upload it next year.

Can't he upload the waived LoRs now, and use them in next year's match?
Meaning, without applying to the match, are the documents uploaded to eras saved for next year?

If I'm right, to upload it to ERAS you need a token, and once you get a token the previous year it makes you a repeat applicant next year.

Which option you think is better? unwaived now?
I'm doing observerships now but I plan to apply next year as well. I asked for a letter and they said yes but I don't have it and I still have more opportunities to get letters. My plan was keep in touch with the attendings and ask them next year. But I'm afraid they'll forget about me.

I'll appreciate your advice, thanks!

Hi I have a question, if a person takes a token this year and doesn't apply to a single program and applies next year taking a new token for that season does that automatically make him/ her a repeat applicant, although he/ she didn't apply to a single program?

Hi guys!

I am applying this year. However, I did an observership last november. I was promised an LOR by my attending! All you gotta do is stay in touch with him/her on a monthly basis. Just tell them what you have been upto so far!! They love hearing from you ! If u pass an exam, email them telling them your score. If u did another observership, keep them updated about it. Send a thank you card on the holidays!! They won't forget you. IN july next year, when you buy a token, send them the letter request form and keep reminding them every 2 weeks. You may not hear from them all the time ( They are busy) but you will get the letter!!

Goodluck!
