Default FM and IM match

Was checking the IMG match 2013 results today and found out that very few people( around 350 I think) matched in FM while there were many who matched in IM. Wanted to know the reason for this. I always thought people with low scores go for FM. Is there something I'm missing here?

WRONG WRONG WRONG. Why are you changing the report .

#1 important thing is Marks for anything.

Step 1 Mark
Step 2 CK

Check out page 62 for IM and page 46 for FM

for FM

Step 1
Step 2
PS

dont post wrong info

Marks are the Number 1 thing being granting an Interview

1) dude, this is 4 years old.
2) Still scores are considered more valid for IMG
3) AMG have a different criteria.

Honestly Victor, I understand you just doing your job, but ACA/AmericaClerckship is not a very well reputed company, 1 google search on the internet about your company and dis-satisfied costumer/student/IMG shows many people are unhappy.

Now for you to come here and try to feed us some propaganda is even worst.

Rather than trying to take money from poor IMGs and giving old info which is not even relevant to anything try to be productive.

OP, asked why is FM match is less than IM.

your answer should have been this
" FM requires you to have a FM LOR and commitment to the field"

Now you could sell your product or spin your company like this

"Please call us, we can arrange some clinical rotations for you in order for you to be competitive"
than you could even say this to the poor people with low marks who will never match is this
"by doing 4-8 month USCE you will have more USCE"

But in reality ACA/Victor you guys should consult a professional sale rep to teach you all how to sell your product.

I never used your products, I called a Caribbean Medical School and did rotations with them.

But Spending time in a Doctors office, is not USCE.

Finally someone well reputed like Shima managed to put this ACA guy in his place.. This FORUM is like the best of all forums. but it has one flaw.. and that is that this ACA guys sponsor this website....

Working on a doctor office shadowing him is good but not good enough compared to universities or even good community hospitals.

If you victor and your "not so good" company want to help IMGs you should do one of 2 things..
Either answer questions directly or just shut up.

DShima, thank you once again for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our services. Its what has allowed us to help so many medicals students and graduates over the years and why they continue to rank us among to top organizations in this industry.

The particular reports in question are published periodically and we utilize them in combination with other resources including our many years of experience.

We recognized that USMLEs are an important factor for securing interviews and residency. However, as you are aware, many other factors must be taken into consideration and it is best for medical students and graduates to follow a structured approach rather than focusing on the minimum requirements.

You will be happy to learn that we work with many Caribbean Medical Schools and US Attending Physicians to provide inpatient and outpatient hands-on USCE to qualifying medical students and graduates. The accessibility of these clinical sites depends on the qualifications of the medical student or graduate and their ability to travel and schedule accordingly.

Finances are an important factor and that is why we offer tuition discounts, payment plans and job placement assistance as part of our services.

We welcome you to learn more about us and as always wish you better results in the upcoming Match.

Best - victor

So if this is to be believed, pass in CS and Step 2 score is more important than step 1 score for IM and FM. Didn't know about that
