Dollar Sign Paying Taxes in Residency?

Do they take the money out of the paycheck ?

DO they do it for people with J-1 Visa or H1-B ?
I heard is less for one.

Also how much do they take out. Can we put things like spouse/children/housing/food to expenses.

Yes/No. Depends on what you chose (you can chose to hold taxes back, or not, depending on state)

Yes.

Depends on deductions etc.

Depends on your state/county/filing status/deductions (children, etc.) etc.

Some states don't have income taxes I.e. Nevada. So that would be the "lowest" I guess.

Google it. Unfortunately I don't know the state taxes for 50 states haha.

Most programmes put PGY1 money like 48000 to 52000 per annum. How much roughly do u think would be the net or take home after taxation. I do know it depends on state and their varing degrees of tax but roughly and generally how much take home?

Thanks boss!

Google "take home pay calculator" there's a website that'll let you input variables in that'll give you a more precise figure.

Single filer with annual income of 50K w/ 0 deductions is about 3.5-4K per month before taxes
