Stop Be careful

This is one of the worst residency programs in the whole United States.

If they give you a prematch ... DON'T TAKE IT ... even if you have very few other interviews.

out of curiosity,
why a program will be bad ? is it better than not to match at all?

This guy is trolling. Why apply if you're predetermined not to take a prematch? I say the contrary, take it w/o asking questions.

yes of course....nothing is called bad program....at the end u will be board certified...prematch or match, average or uni. hospital it doesn't matter, u didn't study for months and paid all this to say i don't wanna take a prematch....maybe the fellowships later one won't be perfect to your desire, but definitely if offered a prematch go ahead big fella......

In the US, a program has to match up to a certain standard, in order to be ACGME accredited. And no matter where you end up, the program is only as good as what you make out of it... I personally feel that most people are better off matching somewhere 'bad' than nowhere.

At the end of the day, only you know what program is best for you depending on location, visa status, family in the area, how comfortable you feel in a big vs small program etc.

Again, if the financial health of the institution is bad, it may shut down. That's about the only thing most people need to watch out for...

honestly

1) look for fellowsips
2) rate of fellowship
3) city with regards to spouse
4) future spouse if dont have
5) family
6) whatever else

flushing would be so good for my husband and me, but we never got an IV there.
