Mail Uploading Transcript to ERAS

Hi guys!

I'm a n IMG and planning on applying for a residency this year.
I have a question regarding uploading Medical School Transcript to ERAS. I found this website: http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/applicants...-a-glance.html

and regarding the transcript info below the table says:
*If your medical school participates in the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP) ERAS program, you will not be able to submit an MSPE or medical school transcript using ECFMGs On-line Applicant Status and Information System (OASIS). Please contact your medical school to have these document types submitted on your behalf.

Does anyone know if that applies to IMGs as well? My school participates in EMSWP but when I called them up they told me they had never submitted the transcript in July/August (basically when ERAS open). My school has already sent all my documents (diploma, transcript along with form 186 etc) to ECFMG and my credentials have been already verified.
So my question is: is this some new rule? Or does it apply only to AMGs?

I would REALLLLLY appreciate your opinion/advice!!!

ECFMG will not accept paper based documents starting this year, so you have to scan and upload your documents.

Yes. It's a new rule.

ERAS no longer accept mailed document, it's all electronic uploads now.

Read the new announcement here
No more papers in ERAS?

Thank you all for your replies but that's not what I was asking about I know that we can no longer send documents via regular mail.
My question is: there's this rule: *If your medical school participates in the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP) ERAS program, you will not be able to submit an MSPE or medical school transcript using ECFMGs On-line Applicant Status and Information System (OASIS). Please contact your medical school to have these document types submitted on your behalf.
so we can no longer submit those listed above documents ourselves, the school has to do it for us. Does it refer to IMGs or only to AMGs? My school has no idea how to upload it for me.. And I'm afraid it can compromise my application process.

Hey Casandra, if your college participates in (EMSWP) ERAS program you cannot upload the documents. your college needs to upload it for you. if your college doesnt know how to, go down at the college and do it yourself helping them. if they dont have the password i think you can ask your college to mail ECFMG from official college mail ID asking for password or there is an option to reset password on the login page.

Whatever maybe the condition you cannot do it yourself so start with the process. But please confirm first that your college does participate in (EMSWP) ERAS program.

You have to go through this process doesnt matter if your IMG or you have verified credentials because thats a different part altogether.Hope this clears your query.
Goodluck!

I talked to ECFMG and they said you can upload your medical transcript yourself to ERAS even if your school is a part of EMSWP.(im not talking about your credential verification for ECFMG certification)

@doxorubicin - Thaks a tonz!!! Yes, my school participates in EMSWP. It was indirectly confirmed when I was applying for my first Step exam and my school was confirming online validity of all the documents I sent to ECFMG.

Hi Sadde, I have spoken to the best of my knowledge regarding this. If you have inquired about it then you should try uploading documents and post the experience here if that is also possible.

That'll help lot many IMGs where colleges have not much idea about this process.

My sentiments EXACTLY! I guess they just told me 'no, we don't do that' because indeed, so far they never had to do that (students/graduates did that themselves). I will go and talk to them personally and I hope they will let me upload those documents from their computer (which makes this whole process really ridiculous). If that doesn't work I'll be really screwed as I'm leaving the country pretty soon. Let's hope for the best then

@Sadde - thanks for the info! I'll try to do it through my college (just to stay on the safe side and follow the official info). If that doesn't work I'll double-check with ECFMG and will try doing it myself.

If you pay up? You have to bribe them????? You're kidding me?! That's not decent at all
I would never think to give them anything in return for the service..

With my school I think it's all about the attitude 'we have never done it so.. we're a bit afraid to screw sth up'. I will stay in the office till the process is finalized (luckily it should show on my account within 2 days so in case sth goes wrong I can go back and re-do it )

Oh no bribing! Its the documents fees that's charged so much that they happily do it.

I double the feeling of your college in my case. So basically i sat with the person responsible in office directing during my credentials. So then if anything goes wrong they can easily blame you, and that's mentally satisfying for them.

When is your CK date? I too have it in July.

oh, now I see. Sorry about suggesting that. It sounded weird so I assumed.. nevermind There are no fees at my school so maybe that's why they are reluctant to do that

Hey guys, I checked OASIS today, and apparently I have the options to upload MSPE and Transcript. Does this mean my school is not enrolled in EMSWP and I can upload it by myself?

To Casandra and other people interested:
There is a mix up between EMSWP Vs. EMSWP ERAS. If your school uses EMSWP system, then it may not have EMSWP ERAS access bcz it's different.

You can upload your MSPE and Transcript on your own if your schools does NOT participate in EMSWP ERAS, regardless of the EMSWP status.

You can not upload MSPE and Transcript as your school is required to do so if your schools particiaptes in EMSWP ERAS.

In any case, you can upload a letter of recommendation, but it will be considered unwaived.

Thanks @good_boy_1234! It clears up my confusion
Apparently my school is enrolled in EMSWP but not in EMSWP ERAS access.

Btw, about the transcript, should we upload the original transript? or the translation? or both on the same file?

ok, so turns out my school participates in EMSWP but does NOT in EMSWP Eras. So I will be submitting Transcript myself.
I have a question regarding MSPE and Dean's Letter. I got MSPE from my school, so does that mean that I won't have to submit Dean's letter later on?

I went to the person who is in charge of EMSWP in my med school and she told me that she never applied for our school to participate in EMSWP Eras.

I'm repeating my question bc I'm afraid it will get lost and omitted:

I got MSPE from my school, so does that mean that I won't have to submit Dean's letter later on?

Dean's letter technically is the old name of MSPE. So they are approximately synonymous.

Hey guys!
I will be uploading the transcript myself and I have a doubt:
on the transcript they omitted my middle name. It was previously explained to the ECFMG in the credentials verification process (my credentials are verified btw). My school can't issue a new transcript. Do you think I should attach some explanation along with my transcript (in the same .pdf file of course)? Or I don't need to explain anything anymore since it has already been done with the ECFMG.
I'm asking this here because maybe someone has had the same doubt/problem.

I have just called ERAS and they told me it's not a problem if my middle name is not on the Transcript (especially that all my documents + credentials have been already verified by ECFMG). I'm just posting it here in case someone is/will be obsessing over such details as well as I did
