This is awesome juggernaut ! Do you think it would be wiser to create a google document with this information ? Or just leave it on the thread.

You are more than welcome to create it.I believe google docs can accommodate much more information due to the space limits here. But the downside would be that anyone with access to that document can change the Information , making it Invalid or liable to misinterpretation. It has happened several times on the Facebook community for 2014 match .So someone has to manage the Google doc list carefully.

Dude, those numbers are insanely high.. I applied to 111 and thought it was too much.. I mean, come on.. You could probably apply to more, but you'll probably risk waste some money just to buy some peace of mind in some programs that are not the best fit for you.. I mixed it up with top tiers (dream), top middle level university programs (reality), lower tier (back up and warm up interviews).. But at the same time I think those numbers are high, that JAMA article about the 2015 doom really raised the feelings of fear for this match and more and more people are choosing to play safe and applying to 150+ programs..

It's impossible to tell my friend.. Just be prepared to grab any opportunity we end up having.. I really admire your effort to be able to finish all the steps while in med school, I didn't have this resilience..

Our circumstances are different and I'm 100% sure that if you or anyone else had the same exact conditions that I had you'd have a similar or better result.. I was blessed and I thank God and my family for that.. But I don't see anyone less of a winner for having lower scores, even to barely pass is a blessing in those tests, but unfortunately there's room only for about 1/3 of us FMGs and among those 2/3 that don't match each year there are thousands of extremely brilliant and capable physicians and I, myself, despite my credentials, could end up being one of them if I don't show on the interview that I want this dream really really bad..

So, let's just be happy for what we currently have and pray that we, FMGs, as a group, are successful this year, because if a program calls one of us, it raises the possibility of calling others alike.. Hence, let's stay together and help each other to cope with all this..

God bless you my friend!! And I wish you the best..

It's still early for us IMGs, but after taking a look at SDN forums I saw some AMGs are already receiving plenty of interviews..

is there a big difference between 2 applicants where one is 2013 graduate and the other is 2014 graduate applying for 2014 matching programs in terms of possibility of getting accepted for the match ? I mean will being one year late after your graduation highly affect your probability of getting matched ?

need more opinions about this issue because I cant sleep thinking of this
Thanks alot

Although being a recent graduate helps . But someone who is a 2014 grad will not have ECFMG certificate in hand. ECFMG certificate now a day is a major distinguishing factor, as Its absence significantly decreases the number of iv one will get.

overall, Its your scores and clinical experience which matters most than a year or two difference in YOG.

You need your degree/Diploma in hand for Ecfmg certification. Degree verification can take 8-12 weeks, depending on how fast your medical school officials are in sending back the verification. Mine took around 4 months. Afterwards as soon as You will have your step1 , CK and CS results declared ,You will be certified.

Baystate Medical Center, MA (univ-affiliated comm hospital)
Lankenau Medical Center Program, PA (univ-affiliated comm hospital)
Florida Hospital Medical Center Program, FL (univ-affiliated comm hospital)

Just to give hope to IMGs with incomplete applications out there - I haven't done Step 2 CS yet!

4th Interview:

New Hanover Regional Medical Center, NC (univ-affiliated comm hospital).

They have a lot of interview dates in Nov, Dec, and Jan so I'd say they will be interviewing a lot of applicants.

My first interview is next Thursday (Sept 26th)! eeks!

Baystate, MA - they are interviewing at Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. Nice that I don't have to get a flight over for it!

That's strange, why would they have an interview in Ireland? Anyways congrats.

Apparently they recruit IMGs in a few other countries - Ireland appears to be one of them.
They send their interviewing committee and administrative staff off on 3 or 4 day interviewing sessions at a different university every year.

Maybe that's why those who are applying from USA haven't gotten any invites from them yet.

Absolutely - they'll obviously be interviewing AMGs and other IMGs later. They are interviewing in Dublin on Sept 26th and 27th only.

I dont think so, applicants with better profiles are more likely to want to post them online and compare. There are many 260s, 250s and 240s but not everyone has those kind of scores.

Thanks HOTDoc.

Just a heads up for anyone who has applied to Baystate Medical Center (MA):

I talked to the program administrator for the internal medicine residency program at Baystate. They will be reviewing all other applications on the week starting October 8th. Invites and/or rejections will be sent out during that week.
