Hi, Im new to this forum. So glad I found this thread. Congrats to all of you on your iv's. Im an IMG. 232(1)/247(2)/CS(1)/2012/USCE 3 Mnths of clerkships/one publicaton.

I know my creds are not as good as u guys. Have not received a single IV yet. Losing hope. Do you think its because of my profile or because I applied on september 25th. Hoping for the best. Good luck guys

Yeah, that's true...but still there was some hope....did you receive any more emails/interviews tramps? Did you start preparing for your interviews?

I applied to 70 programs. So far only 3 IVs (Bronx-Lebanon, michigan state and Medical College of Wisconsin). Around 10 RJs.
How many IVs do you think we need in order to have good chances to match?
At the beginning of the process I was hoping for 10 IVs but now I am pretty sure this number is to high!!!

Hey Guys,
quick question: is it important to have the ACLS/PALS certification? I don't have it. If the answer is yes, what online course do you recommend?
Thanks

You can stay 1 year in FM , and apply on next year to ob/gyn. You are fresh graduate. It will be your plan B)))
Hope you will win on plan A.

Hey Bain!

From what I read on forums, I don't think that having a ACLS/PALS certification would make a difference in whether you will be invited to an interview or not. Also, it costs around 130$ for each course, which I think the residency programs will cover for you during the orientation week. At least this is my understanding. You can also check this link:

Hi, I got it, but I still don't have any IVs so it is not important. Also this course only live never buy online certificate.

Hi guys,

I am new in this forum actually. Congratulations to everyone for the IVs you guys have gotten. This process is really hard core.

This is my first attempt to the match and can't hide my nervousness. My main concern is the fact that many programs have sent out IVs to AMGs and rejections to IMGs -- based on forums' reports--but I have not received anything from them. How should I perceive this? a forgotten rejection? Besides, it is Oct 22nd and from 50 programs I applied to, I have received only 10 responses. Do you think that the rest just doesn't bother to send me a rejection?

Since I have not followed the threads from the beginning, could u please tell me if you have received any response (IV or rejection) from the following programs:
-Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center Program, NY
-Bridgeport Hospital/Yale University Program, CT
-
Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital Program, PA
-NSLIJHS/Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine Program, NY
-
Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System Program, PA
-
SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Program, NY
-
St Barnabas Medical Center Program, NJ
-
University at Buffalo Program, NY
-

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and I realize that all of us are on the same boat. Lots of rejections, very few ivs and a number of no replies yet. I have applied to 136 programs and received 25 rejections and 3 ivs so far. Got ivs at henry ford, flushing hospital medical center and Jamaica hospital medical center. Any advise regarding ivs is highly appreciated.

-
Washington Hospital Center Program, DC

Last, Ohio and Texas seems as if does not exist.

Hi. I got rejection from university at buffalo. Rest of the places didn't respond yet. At least for me. I did not apply for washington hospital medical center, DC.

I got rejection at Bridgeport/Yale...I didn't hear anything from the rest of the programs. Can you also post your credentials? Do you have any interviews until now? I know it is a really stressful time for all of us....Good luck!

Thank you guys for your response.

It seems like Bridgeport and Buffalo are the only ones of the above list which sent out responses.

I am 250(1)/230+(1)/(1)/2008/need visa/no US clinical experience.

have received 10 rejections.

Good luck to all of us.

so far 4 rejections, 1 IV

this is really annoying... programs that are traditionally IMG friendly have not sent any response yet to anyone, from what I can tell in different IMG forums: St. luke roosvelt, Drexel, Lenox hill, Maimonides, NSLIJH, Methodist, Jefferson PA

I really dont know if it means they all take their time this year or maybe silence= rejection?

Welcome Amaryllisa,
From your list I only got a RJ from Yale. Applied to almost all those programs. My email is been silent since Friday. I guess this is all about patience. Best luck!

Default Kaplan class

Hey guys,
I don't know if you heard about it. There's a free online Kaplan class tonight at 8pm (ETZ) - "Advanced Interviewing for Residency". I don't know what kind of tips they are going to give but I signed up anyway. I thought you might be interested.

RJ - UT Houston-LBJ Hospital Residency Program
in OB/GYN. We received 550
applications for six positions and simply cannot offer interviews to very many
qualified candidates.

Every rejection says that they got 500/600 applicants this year. Are they all giving interviews to the same 40/50 people?

Wannabe Obgyn...u are absolutely right. If you take a look at the AMGs forum you will see that more than clearly. the same people get all the IVs from the top programs...and if you don't see their nickname somewhere it is because they did not apply there.

to my opinion, only the connection matters at the end of the day, period

Think positively - they don't invite us for this highly competitive program so we can safe money for the trip. When AMG start cancel their IVs we will get some.

relax, you doing a great job. your opinion is really appreciated. just understand that you are way more competitive than we are.

obviously, most people here have slightly different goals from yours. with such credentials as yours you will choose among good and better options; and all we are left with is to grasp anything at all, to accept any position whatsoever;

No offense, I wish you all the best, just stating the fact.

Bain, did Miami told you that you are rejected this time. And things may change if someone dc their interview.
Did Colorado suggest you applying for a prelim position in the rejection letter?

Programs that offer prematch cannot participate in the match since a year. The only way is the NRMP match.

I did not apply to two others in your RJ list due to their requirements.
Also, I got another RJ today from TY program at Lemuel Shattuck hospital. These program did not post their requirements anywhere and their RJ letter very short too)))

Are there any USMG but non US citizen grads on here?
Stats 237(1)/253)2/needs visa

How is the application process for our sub-group? I applied to 38 programs. 3 interviews, 2 waitlisted. 10 rejs
Definitely lower nos compared to my classmates.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hey Pelz,
I don't think so. Almost everybody here is IMG. If things are hard for you they're even harder for us, believe me!!! Best luck.

Hey guys...has any of you applied to U-Chicago and Mayo? If so, have you heard from them?

It is so worrisome the fact that programs traditionally IMG friendly such as U-Miami, Emory, Baylor and U-Maryland sent out rejections to IMGs.

Wish us Happy Friday
