Certificate LoR author of the same nationality as the applicant

Hi guys!

I have read in several forums that submitting application with LoR coming from doctors of the same nationality as the applicant is actually pointless.
I will have 2 US LoRs + 1 LoR from my PD from home residency
I can get one more letter but I am not sure if that would be beneficial or actually harmful for my application. Why? Because the doctor I would like to ask for the letter was born in my country.. She moved to US when she was 5, received her education in US, is board certified and all. So here is my (maybe stupid) question: Would her LoR be considered as a letter from a person of the same nationality (her last name is very typical for my country), hence useless in my case since I already have 1 letter of this kind (from my PD)?
I would appreciate your suggestions

I think that should be completely alright. As the letter author is board certified and is a practicing US physician, the lor should hold the same credibility as other US lors. You should definitely use this lor if it is a strong one.

I agree with Stepboy. You can use that LOR. The fact that you are both from the same country makes no difference.

That being said, I hope your second names are not the same.. if so.. don't use..it will seem like you got your letter from a relative.

GL with your application!
