Did New York Times wrote about your clinical and/or research achievement? if yes then you should apply. Visa O refer to extraordinary candidate; famous for the achievement in their field.

Its actually not impossible. You need to fulfill 3 out of 10 criteria to get an O visa. I have heard of people doing this but what they do is that they go for a PhD in the states and do hardcore lab research. Once they are done with their PhD and have a strong couple of articles in big journals, they apply for an O visa. But this is not as common as you would like it to be and I still don't see why you would want this instead of an H1B visa.

dude maybe you can try to get a nobel prize based on your marks and then apply for O visa.. haha

J1/H1 category etc are by far easier visas to get than O category !!
