Unhappy My chances?

Hi
I'm a Canadian Citizen, graduated 2013 from a Caribbean medical school.
I applied to match 2013 for family medicine and internal medicine and did not receive any family interviews, 2 internal medicine interviews....didn't match.

Step 1 209
Step 2 CK 221
Step 2 CS Passed
Step 3 planned for sept.

All first attempts
ECFMG certified April 2013

All US clinical rotations
Many strong LORs

I've been trying to stay positive and move ahead by studying for step 3 and find some meaningful clinical research positions.
But I really needed some input on why I could have failed the match? What else can I do? I have added pressure this year because I married a US green card holder and I can no longer receive a J1 visa (nonimmigrant visa)...therefore a H1b would be my only choice.

any advice would be appreciated.

First of all what do you mean that you cannot get a J1 visa just because you married a US green card holder? Is that really true?

Yes this is true. Marrying a gc holder makes you an "intended immigrant" therefore any nonimmigrant visas are no longer available. I have lawyers trying to find a loophole.

Jeez getting a J1 visa is even more complicated than I thought.

Anyways to answer your previous question, all I can say is to try again for this year's match and pray that it works well. I'm in the same boat as you right now and I'm doing everything I can right now to make sure I match. Good luck.
