Question From Peds to IM

Can anybody please share an idea how to explain in PS the intent to apply to IM having Peds background including work as a pediatrician in home country and observation in Peds in USA.

Why do you want to change to IM. If I were you I'd apply to pediatrics.

Focused application is the most important thing to get you interviews and increases the chances of matching.

Erratic application (Peds CV and IM application) will likely result in match failure.

If you insist, then at least you should do some IM USCE and in your personal statement you should frankly say you are taking the opportunity of starting new career line since you arrived to USA, something you could not do when you were in your home country.

I am applying to Peds but thinking about backup in IM too. I don't know if it reasonable or not. In my list there are about 100 Peds program and I don't feel like it's enough for match.

What are your scores?
100 peds should be enough for someone like you with peds background.

Do you think with my credentials I don't need any back up?

I strongly oppose backup application, I just wrote an article about that here
Applying to Backup Specialty, Does it Work?

Also, I think your credentials are good enough and you don't need a backup.
