Question Upload now or later

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about this. I am ECFMG certified and have 4 LORs, MSPE, transcripts and a 2014 token at hand right now. But a research opportunity came up so I decided to postpone my match application for a year. Should I upload everything now using my 2014 token or just wait for next year's token?

TY!

Are you ecfmg certified?

Are you postponing your application in order to add this research to your experience?

+1 To GamX's comment.
Are you postponing residency to get research experience? If so, I don't think that's a good idea - it's not worth it.
If you must take the year off, get USCE experience instead.

Yes. I am ECFMG certified. And yes, added experience plus I need to save up for the application. It was quite a dilemma actually. I've always wanted to explore the possibility of going into research but then matching always seem to be the priority for everyone..

Yea, I do plan to get a month of USCE too. I feel like I am committing a career suicide in everyone's eyes. Putting off match application for a year is THAT bad? Thanks for your inputs!
