Listening LORs for IM

Hi all!

Could you please point to which is better for an IM residency application

a) 1LOR -clinical elective + 1LOR -observership + 1LOR-research

b) 1LOR-clinical elective + 2LORs -research

Or it does not matter at all?

Please suggest.

Thanks!

I'll go with the option a). Observership is regarded as clinical activity, so it's better suited for residency.

why not use all the lor's? seems like you have one clinical elective, one observership, and 2 research LOR's? That makes four lor's per application!

Thank you all.

Well I do not have them in real.
Depending on which combination is better, I would go ahead with observership or research

Thanks!

Default LOR help

Hey guys,

I got this unwaived LoR from a highly reputed doctor in the US and is approximately one page with very positive sentences. However, there is one sentence which the doctor wrote and I dont like. It is about the level of my knowledge which is not on the same scale with a 4th year US medical student, but says that in the right environment I would easily catch up.

I was not sure whether to put this letter on my application. My scores are Step1 in 240's and Step 2 in 250's.

Is it better to put it or not, because I do not have other US letters.

Sincerely,
Dr. Andrews

I already got the answer. I would be grateful if you could remove my post, since it is a part of the letter and i dont want to share it for long.
