Default Sept 15th- Get NRMP Registration First?

Hi,

I have a bit of confusion and would be extremely grateful if anyone can clarify this-

-NRMP registration begins at 12 noon on Sept 15th
-ERAS application submission begins at 8 am on Sept 15th.

Do I need to get the NRMP registration first and then start applying for programmes or can I start applying directly and later on register for NRMP...?

Thanks.

Yeah even I had this question. I thought you do eras procedure on the 15th. NRMP can be done starting on the 15th and till October. But sooner the better but I was wondering why does the eras caf have a place for the NRMP id.... Any insight into this??.

Basically, Submit application on 15th September at 8-9am EST then at noon of same day register to NRMP and be done with it!
Good Luck!!!
Thank you so much! God bless you and good luck:-)

For people following this post (next year applicants), start applying to programmes at 9 am. You can get yourself registered with NRMP at 12 noon (the system crashed this year, so I was only able to register at 2 pm). Once you get your NRMP number, you can update it on your profile page in ERAS. The NRMP number doesn't go with your main application, it is only needs to be mentioned on your ERAS profile.

Therefore there is no point in delaying your application submission just for the NRMP number..
