Question Should I Apply This Year?

I am an IMG, 249 on Step 1 and 245 on step 2, for personal reasons, I was not able to take my CS exam early, I am going to take it in few days, but the results are going to be released on December 10th, I am aiming for IM, I have 3 months of hands-on clinical experience and 2 very good letters of recommendations and now doing research, should I apply this year?

Your application is flawless and it would be a shame to go in late.

Continue research, do step 3, and apply next year on time.

Btw, Lebanese or Syrian by any chance?

thanks for your reply, I am Syrian, and was not able to have my CS exam on time because of visa issues.
Waiting for another year is so painful, I don't know, I am so stress...

It'll fly really fast. If you're currently doing research then you'll probably get a couple of abstracts and maybe even a publication or two. Also, you can finish step 3 which will help as well.

if you use this year efficiently, you can go into next year's match with a much more powerful application.

If your not an old graduate I would say definitely apply next year and save yourself a large amount of money and stress.

P.S. Hala bl habib el3'ali

hala feek ya ghali, from which city are you?
I graduated on 2010, so I am not a fresh graduate, I don't know what to do? I don't want to go back to Syria because of war, waiting for one year will cost me a lot of money, and my visa won't permit me to work here, it is so complicated...
