Help When to Finalize the LoR?

I uploaded my LOR in oasis, and i read this part :

"The LoR will be listed on the Verify Receipt of Documents page as soon as it has been uploaded successfully. The letter of recommendation will not be reviewed for accuracy or uploaded to the MyERAS PostOffice and made available for you to assign to programs until you designate and finalize the letter of recommendation in MyERAS. For information on how to finalize your letters please see:" ......... and off course the link they give dose not work...

My question is
- The letter will be uploaded to MYERAS, and i will see it and then i have to designated and finalize it? or
- I have to finalize it now, and then it will be uploaded for me to assign it, or they will figure out wich author goes with each letter???

Please help me.

You have to finalize the LoR first.

Although they call it (finalize) but it's a confusing name because it's not the final thing in the process. It's actually the first thing in the process.

The issue here, is that ERAS (which controlled by AAMC) has to communicate with your OASIS (which is controlled by ECFMG). Therefore, when you "finalize" the LoR in myERAS. There will be an electronic request sent to ECFMG to retrieve the letter. If that letter is uploaded (like what you did) in OASIS then the letter will appear in your myERAS (the whole thing takes about 2 weeks).

You don't need a special link to finalize your LoR. Just login to your account in myERAS and click on documents tab then click on the LoR sub-tab and you will know how to create and finalize LoR requests easily.

Thank you so much Sabio,
I guess my fear is that I did finalize the first one and doesn't appear when I click on "tracking my documents", so I thought maybe I spelled the name different or something, but then I should just give it the 2 weeks?

Yeah you have to wait 2 weeks until it appears in your ADTS of your myERAS.

Sabio,
i want to use single LOR for EM and IM both. My Q is, do I need to upload it twice and finalize with same author with diff specialty OR I upload it once and finalize twice? or none of these....like just upload+ finalize once and can be managed while applying?
Thanks a lot
