Help When should I take step2 CS

Hi everyone,
I'm done with step1 and will take step2 on June 2014.
When would be the best time (latest time possible) for me to take the CS to be eligible for match 2015?
Please help!

you're allowed to take it up until dec 31st. but it's better to take at least 2 months before submitting the applications (i.e around july). having your results ready helps get you more interviews.

good luck!

2014 Reporting Schedule - Step 2 CS

Testing Period Reporting Start Date Reporting End Date
January 1- January 25 February 26 March 19
January 26- March 22 April 23 May 21
March 23 - May 17 June 18 July 16
May 18 - July 12 August 13 September 10
July 13 - September 6 October 8 November 5
September 7 - November 1 December 3 December 31
November 2 - December 31 February 4 (2015) February 25 (2015)

http://usmle.org/step-2-cs/#reporting

See above the reporting schedule for 2014. IMO the latest period for 2014 match would be may 18 until july 12. Then you would be able to have ecfmg certification before sep 15th.

btw july 12th is my birthday...

1 month, but most of the guys prepare themself in 2 weeks or less.
I used cse videos, fa and trained online with some skype partners. (I've met them here)
I also was very luck because as I came early to city center I fortunately met some caribbean students that really helped me.
If I could I would have done the Kaplan Live course, but I was without time and $$$$$

Do not underestimate this exam, one fail here and you will have to deal with it until the rest of your life.

The material itself is very easy, takes about 3 weeks to prepare.
I personally used FA and USMLE world and practiced with a friend who already took the test.
For the language, I suggest you get a TOEFL book/cd. it has a part for spoken English and will help you a lot in preparing for both the conversation skills and the patient note ( in terms of grammar and spelling). You'll find lots of free stuff online btw!

If you're concerned about language, the prepare for it starting now. an hour at the end of the day for the next few months will make a huge difference
