Embarrassed Step 1 score 212 on second attempt

I am non-US IMG, I failed step 1 a year ago. Then I decided to retake it and got my result 212. Its low, I know. I have no chance, I fear. I am here to ask you guys, what can I do to improve my application? If anyone thinks < I (me) don't deserve it > kind of reply, I appreciate. I just need some opinions.

I need inputs, Please.

NB. These days 250s seems like average.

It's unfortunate what you went through, but you worked hard and came back. Look at the next step, because it isn't as if you will stop your profession from calling you and quit this at this stage.

Just go and do well on CK and Step 3. Meanwhile, try to get some observership or externship and whatever else you can.

Don't think that the averages are 250s nowadays. It's different for everyone.

Good Luck.

So doing good on step 2 CK will mitigate my failure to some extent???

Where there's a will, there's a way!
I have a friend who matched after failing Step 1 on the first go.
He used the shock of failing Step 1 to work harder and did well on his CK and also passed his CS. He applied for the match and was unsuccessful with his Step 1 and 2CK and 2CS completed. He spent the following year doing two observerships in the US and did Step 3 that year. He applied for the 2013 Match and is now in a categorical IM residency.

Keep the dream alive!

Admittedly, yes. He scored 230-ish.

All you can do is try.
You're going to practice medicine no matter what happens - it's just a matter of where you practice.
See if you can do well with your subsequent scores (CK, CS, and Step 3). Get them done as soon as possible, and apply for future matches. Get research experience and USCE / observerships is possible.

Be selective in which programs you apply to. Are you applying to internal medicine?

According to you, which options I can go with this attempt and low score? Is Neurology possible for me?
