Help 206 CK Score Can I get it into Residency?

Hi everyone,

I have a simple question. I got the score of 206 (86) for my step 2 CK and I am an IMG (OB&GYN). Please give me an idea if there is any possibility to get a residency if I continue my exams.

Thanks,
Mita

Hi, OBGYN is somehow competitive for IMGs, however if you have good previous experience in this field then your chances are in general greater than other applicants even if you scores were between 85 and 90. Also if you have GC or citizen this will make you task easier as well but still competitive in general.

Default Step 1 Score is more important

Hi Mita,
What is your Step 1 Score?
Step 1 Score is more important than Step 2 CK Score.

go to www.nrmp.org
find "charting outcomes of the match" in the bottom right side of the main page. You will have all current match details available. With 206, there will be a chance. The graphs there will explain everything.

Thank you so much for your response.
I am citizen of Canada and have had a great experience in this field also I have some experience in research in Canada; but, as you know experience and aging are hand in hand. I am more than 50 years old and it is not in favor of getting a residency in OB&GYN. Do you think " family medicine" can work better for me?
