Communication Phone interview....dos and don'ts

I got an email from UAMS to schedule for a phone interview.
Applied to 53 FM programs, got 5 rejections ,2 acknowledges so far.

Step 1:211
Step 2: 225
CS: pass (all first attempt)
1 yr USCE
YOG: nov 2008
GC holder
Nice PS & 3 US LOR.

I'm so scared. Can't figure what's going wrong.....does anything good come from phone interviews?

Phone interviews are just usually pre-screening interviews. They will send you the actual invitation after. Just relax and treat it like a real interview.

Hey Hi Scombroid! Did you schedule phone IV? How was it? What did they talk about? I am supposed to give a call back to Mount Sinai FM program today, wanted to know how a phone IV goes. Thanks.

Well, it went very smooth but I'm surprised they have not invited me for the real interview
It was a female resident in PGY2 that actually conducted the 15mins interview. She asked me why I choose FM & why their program. Also I should tell her my strengths & what I have been doing since graduation. She then inquired if I have a question for her so I asked if she likes the program, if they have teaching ward rounds and if residents are required to tutor med students.
I would have said it was a success except for the silence afterwards.

Thanks for the information! Hope they call you for actual IV soon. Is FM your first preference?

I got the same IV @Scombroid , 15 min, and it was with a PGY-3. she said that they had approximately 2000 applicants . I dont think they call everyone but they do check all the applications. So, i guess if they are going to send for the personal one is going to take time. I wish all of us the best...

GL....
