Question One yr difference of YOG more important than Scores!

Guys as we know the IV season is heating up.. I just have a question regarding the trend according to which IVs are being granted

- a few of my friends have scores 235+ in both . YOG 2012 ..have no IVs as yet.

-another 2 friends have scores 220s ..But YOG 2013 ...have many IVs..

Don't know the factors which granted the ppl with lower scores more IVs.

Is it the YOG ...but they differ only by one year..both could be called as recent?

Will a recent YOG be more important than higher scores..?

Every PD has different opinions, some consider the YOG more important than the score but generally speaking scores are more important for anybody less than 3 years since graduation.

You cannot really generalize from your friends experiences, this is anecdotal and can't be extended to everybody. Maybe your friends with 230 and 2012 YOG had some other red flags or applied to higher profile places than your 220 friends.

Thank you, Sabio.

Is the YOG counted from the date we apply or when residency actually begins? Because there's a whole year added to most of us if it's the latter.

Also, I'm noticing YOG being a tremendous factor for many these last few seasons. So much that it makes me wonder the struggle one may go through if YOG is for example 2009.

I talked to some FM programs and they count till the date residency begins. So sad but true ...
