What are you applying to?
How many programs?
Do you have US LoR?
Any research or Volunteer work?

What was the 2 years USCE (oberverships/Clerkships) and how many months in each speciality?
Did you make sure to apply to programs that you meet the attempts criteria?
Also what was the ratio of programs between FM and IM?

To be honest your situation is really difficult. I also applied this year and I saw applicants with better credentials (scores in 230s with US LoRs) than yours struggle to get interviews. US residency really seems to be getting tougher. At least you applied this year, just wait and see what happens. My advice would be to have a backup plan - maybe a residency somewhere else or a medically related job that you like. I know its difficult for us who invested a lot on this to not see the fruit of our efforts. But life must go on. Wish you all the best.

I disagree with you! We didn't go to medical school for so many years, did the steps and then NOT practice medicine.
I agree that there should be a backup plan...this could mean another country and still try to apply. To be honest, the US is not everything but everyone has their reasons to go there (so do I). UK is a good alternative I believe.
You should look into it! Good luck!

I agree with what you just mentioned but do you know anything about doing residency in UK? What exams do we have to take and how competitive is it to get into there?

I don't know everything about the residency in the UK, but the way it works is that you start in Foundation Programme (usually 2 years) and then start your specialty training.

As a non-european citizen you'd have to take the PLAB (similar to Step 2 CK) before applying.
