Listening Didn't like program, need advice

I interviewed at a program that I really did not like very much. I know I can't really be picky as an IMG, should I still express interest to the interviewer? he gave me his email

I would personally not rank it. Would you prefer to go for the match again next year or spend 3-4 years unhappy?

I would choose happiness!

Which program is this by the way? We all are adults, you should know what's best for you at this time.

I'm leaning towards ranking it at the very bottom of my not very long list. there was just something off about the place, but I can't put my finger on it. they actually have a pgy3 with almost exactly the same background as me, and that person is highly regarded in the program. I think I have a real shot , but this is a tough decision.

just my point...you have already made up your mind so why asking for suggestions??
I have just 1 question for you, lets assume they end up being the only program that ranks/match you, will you accept or decline the offer??

"leaning towards" in no way means that I've made up my mind. And I'm asking whether I should rank it low, or not rank it at all. and honestly, to answer your question--I don't know...yet.

I think as a little bit of respect you should.. there are trillions of application and they chose you.. just to be thankful you should show some interest.

If you are not interested in the program, (malignant you really don't want to go there ) your best option is not to rank it at all.

There are several different reasons to not rank a program, however they are things like the program is on probation, they are known to be extremely malignant or due to a recent event you can not move to that area.

Now your reason may be legitimate however you have to determine how much should effect your career. Personality conflicts will occur at program, it may the PC or PD that rubs you wrong, or even a fellow resident. At that point you would just choice to grin and bear it, and to learn what it is that rubs you the wrong way and how to avoid them.

i would rank it low
but if you are so confident that you dont want to rank them at all then thats on you.
