How I understand that scores are only important in a process of downloading our applications; but most important criteria in selection for IV is AMG or IMG and than YOG.

While i appreciate what u re trying to do I dont think its gonna really be of any help. There re more applications to surgery than there has ever been. PD are more or less left with crude tools to help with the dunting task of selection. The strongest and most important criteria for getting interviews in surgery has become so dependent on 2 factors more so than in other specialties
1. Where and when did u graduate
2. Your Visa status

In short i have been very reliably informed that programs set a filter around these when considering their first round of invitations.

There are a lot of reason one can give for the over-dependence on this criteria in surgery residency selection. The most glaring fact is that the residency working hours in surgery is getting as attractive as those in other specialty and thus more and more AMG are applying to surgery. Trust me, this AMGs also come with high scores and some of them would have been those who would have applied to such sub specialty like Dermatology, ENT etc cos of thier better work/life balance
