If they are for IM,I will choose Urbana to cook county. If otherwise, cook county is better than Urbana(IM is very malignant at cook county)

Southern Illinois is better than st. Joseph but st Joseph is more IMG friendly especially their IM program(their FM program is full of AMGs)

It depends on your plans after residency. Does Urbana have in-house fellowships? If you're planning to pursue a fellowship, I would recommend you choose a program with in-house fellowships over a university-based program that has no in-house fellowships. Some programs are "university-based", but they are actually regional campuses of the main program and have no in-house fellowships.

Thank you for your response. SIU has about three in house fellowships. Urbana as you said is a regional campus and not sure it has any in house fellowships. But between cooks county and Urbana barring the fellowships is there any advantage of one over the other?

I don't have an interview at Urbana and, thus, couldn't compare it to Cook County. Sorry...

I'm interviewing at both programs. if you don't mind the arduous nature of IM at cook county, it's better off than Urbana champaign based on location and ease of fellowship afterwards.
