Have anybody tried to get an observeship or clinical clerkship in the US before application for the residency? What did you you step by step? Did it eventually help for the match?
observerships are usually unofficial, so you should try to contact individual faculty members with your cv and express your interest. but again, I should warn you that clinical clerkship is much much better than observership, because in clerkship you are officially recognized as a student.
Medical student clerkship is the best option,It would really improve your application. Then observership and externships are the same thing , it is always a good idea to ha have USCE , before applying
