Mail Sending Letters of Interest To Programs

hey everybody, hope the match is going well for you.
I was advised by some friends to send letters if interest to the programs that I interviewed in (which are not many) by the time of ranking stating that I'm interested in them especially after speaking with residents there that I knew (which is actually true) & they said that will up my chances especially when program directors know that I know people there & that letter will show genuine interest in that program making them rank me higher.
to what extent is that statement true?
& if it's actually true, what should I write?
thank you & good luck.

I would do it, it is not going to guarantee matching, but it wil help the PDD and tha faculty in the selection committe to keep you in their short time memory, specially if they really liked you.

Something like " Dear Dr , I have finished al my IVs ......... I consider that your program, would the best choice, to continue my training , in order to achieve my goal of become a tropical dermatologist ..... Something along those lines

GL
