Default Interview experience

Posting after such a long time in usmle forums..

I applied to Internal medicine in October(late)..my credentials being 202/248/ CS pass 1st attempt.. 6 months observership in outpatient in community program, 2 weeks observership inpatient in a reputed university program, research with 2 abstracts and oral presentation..2012 graduate IMG requiring visa

so far I got only two interviews and both are by contacts..
In one of the programs where I interviewed last week, my husband was a resident and its a small community program. I wasnt questioned about my step 1 score there as they thought that my step 1 score was fine, but they did point out that I do not have enough US clinical experience and they wont be able to trust me with their patients..
I dont know what to expect now as I was having really high hopes from this program..I am preparing for step 3 but wondering what might happen next year..This year match process has been crazy , a couple of my friends doing MPH and with 230 plus scores did not secure a single interview without contact..

bottomline- pay attention to electives..a lot of IMG's try to get into 250's thinking that that can make up for their lack of electives..From what I have heard some programs especially those in New york do give preference to very high scores irrespective of their US clinical experience but in the larger picture 230 in both steps and 2-4 months of clerkship in US is any day better than 250 in both steps and no USCE..

all the best guys for the match process..

Was it the same place that was critical of your lack of US experience?

Thank you so much..I sincerely believe that the match is very unpredictable and frustrating..it doesnt harm if you help others through the process..
