Well, with such average scores,I advise you stop wasting your time & $$ looking for residency in the US. Any score less than 260 step 1 & 275 step 2 is time wasted.
Why not look into being a CNA or work for the USPS? they make a descent living wage!
I scored 275 step1, 278 step2, passed cs 1st attempt & 275 step3 but got only 5 iVs I hope you get my point by now

@ neural crest : don't listen to scromboid..your step 1 is average and step 2 is low..still you have a chance at residency..a step 3 and/or an observership will give you a boost...community programs accept people with such scores...start making contacts.

Annoying! I have no other words! How about you read your horoscope for 2015, you would get the same chance in prediction as in here! None will be able to answer your question, regardless of scores. There are many factors in choosing applicants for interview!
This is not only for you, but to many people posting "am I gonna match?", guys just bite your nails and keep it for yourself, this forum is for real questions and for real people!

Default i wish we can all get along. we are doctors, people that epitomize affection for all.

@gulf, like i stated above i am asking my question in all sincerity because of the slump in my CK score, u don't need to vent your venom on me please u can simply ignore my thread and let me be.
@ scromboid, do u think CNA is a lowly job? there is dignity in labor, every form of work is important, u don't have to look down on others that are not doctors like you are as "lesser" creatures, they all contribute to the balance we have in the every society and they deserve our respect. if your scores are within 200 range i congratulate you cos it was borne from your hardwork and you have things figured out. Maybe i don't know this process as much as u do that is why i seek answer(s) from more enlightened people(with you inclusive) on this forum.
good luck.

No chance. Why did you even waste your time giving CS after such a poor score in CK?

i think that for now, if you are not applying this year, you have plenty of time to put into step 3 preparation. Do it! If you get 240< I think you chances will be pretty good considering your legal status. Just do well on step 3 and have some USCE (will also help with step 3, I'm sure). Put at least 2-3 months in writing a descent personal statement and CV (don't underestimate these two!). And I bet you will match!! Wish you all the best

Yes you will match unless your interviewing skills are poor..i have been teaching students and following the match for many years as i know what the pds are looking for.. most people giving you advice here are students who are applying themselves. most people have created an image in their mind that anything below 240 is a poor score but in reality its not true. focus on ur interview skills and you should be fine. good luck!

Dude, stop being such a loser, the guy is asking and you should humble yourself and be positive and try to help him instead of being such a loser, if you truly have these scores which i doubt and end up with only 5 interviews, that is telling me how socially awkward you are, which is clearly reflected by your comment, i think USPS would be just perfect for you.
be humble and give positive comments.

and Yes he has a chance and he will match, hard work and dedication is the key.

Peace

OP, your scores are more than enough to get interviews. ECFMG considers your step 1 score as ' strong', and your CK score as ' marginal'. However, the scores are already beyond your control ( only step 3 ). You must apply extremely broadly to secure desired number of interviews, looking only at your step scores the ration of application - IV is going to be ~ 30 applications for 1 interview. If you have 0 problems with visa your ration goes dramatically up - 10 applications for 1 IV. Though, apply smarty, probably you have very little chances of getting to MGH, unless you're phd with multiple publications.
You can read the paper released by ECFMG.
http://www.nrmp.org/wp-content/uploa...n-2013-MRM.pdf

Nobody can tell you your exact chances of matching, even the private companies which lurk around this forum and 'predict' your chances by the number of contiguous ranks. You would never want to focus on a single data point whether it's scores/number of interviews/publication/usce/mspe/interview performance.
Paying too much attention to your score wont get you anywhere, instead try to get USCE/research/ drink at the bar with PD/get step 3 ready.
