when we celebrate all the things we are grateful for in this life, all the anxiety dissipates. Its all a matter of perspective. Life will still be incredible , whether we match or not. Live high people

Final 24 hours... Getting nervous, as well !!!
Trying to remind myself that no matter what happens we will always be more fortunate than probably 90% of the world population. Not helping much, though

Good luck to all of us!

Default All the glory and praise to the lord Jesus Christ

I Matched! Thank to God, this has been a miracle, all is possible if you work hard and you have faith, this is a miracle. I want to help people like me
YOG 2007
step 1 215
step 2 232
cs passed
all first try

2 months observership in private clinic, 2 great LOR from US doctors, and a lot of enthusiasm, passion, positivism and confidence on the interviews. ANd a lot of prayer, that is all i had, no research, no USCE, SO MANY people, so MANY of this companies told me I did not stand a chance unless I buy their "clerckship", believe in yourself people. look for alternatives i did observership with my own family doctor, and my kids pediatrician, this doctors cared for me, and wanted to help, my LOR was not a yes she will be a good resident, but was a true recommendation, of someone they knew and knew could do the work, you have something to offer, we are hard workers, we are beating the odds, we can do it.

FM IV texas tech Odessa, texas tech el paso, UTMB, UT san antonio, LSU
IM IV Mercy saint vincent OHIO.

THank you LORD, good luck to all of you still in this journey i wish you all the best!!

my credentials:
YOG: 2004
STEP 1: 198
STEP CK: 240
STEP CS: PASSED
STEP 3: 225
ALL FIRST ATTEMPT.

I NEED A VISA.

ONLY 3 IVs.
1 FM IV - JFK in NJ
2 Peds IV - Bronx-leb and Mt sinai chicago.

Bronx-leb is prematched. I wasn't offered prematch. so technically I was only left with 2 IVs, JFK in NJ (FM) and mt sinai in chicago (peds) to rank for the match.

my top choice was JFK (FM). I did a second-look here immediately the day after my IV. I wasn't able to do second look with the other 2 progs. The 2nd IV (bronx-leb) was the following day after my first IV (mt sinai). my 3rd and last IV (jfk) was 1 wk later. looking back, I had more time to prepare for my 3rd IV and I was able to avoid my mistakes in my first 2 IVs.

the mt sinai IV wasn't that great because I was not interviewed by the prog director. there were 2 attendings who interviewed me. I thought i wasn't a top choice for them. but i don't think i messed up with my IV here. just normal i think.

the bronx-leb IV, i think I messed up. i had panel IV here...scary! this was a peds prog but i have no peds lor. so they asked me if i only applied to peds, i paused and I had palpitations. finally, i said yes. then they asked me why i only have fm and I'm LORs...i got rattled...i don't think they found my answer sincere enough...haha...i also told them that I paid for my externship...they were not happy when they found this out...so don't tell them...pls!!! even if you think they already know about this...just don't ever volunteer that you had a paid externship...it's like telling them that your LOR is not genuine...i.e., that you paid for your LOR...so don't...just a word of advice...

for my JFK IV, i think i did well here...they asked me if i will go back to my home country after my residency...i said with a strong conviction that I WON'T GO BACK TO MY HOME COUNTRY...that I WANT TO MIGRATE TO THE US...then they asked me if I got relatives in the US...I said yes...because I think they want to know if there is any reason to keep us in the US...US progs want us to stay in the US...because US will invest a lot of money on our education during residency....and they want us to give back and serve the underserved areas of the US!...I wrote them thank you letter...to each of my interviewers including all the residents I met and talked with...so i actually wrote close to 10 thank you letters for this prog...then I wrote to them that I put them at the top of my rank list...

i hope that helps...

thank you...and good luck to you my friend and future colleague in the US!!!

Congratulations Nikky! You deserve it! Keep holding on to your faith. It will see you through life's journey.
I matched as well - not sure if it's FM or IM. I had 3 interviews each. So it's 50-50.

The 2nd IV (bronx-leb) was the following day after my first IV (mt sinai). my 3rd and last IV (jfk) was 1 wk later. looking back, I had more time to prepare for my 3rd IV and I was able to avoid my mistakes in my first 2 IVs.

i hope that helps...
