None of these are very high on the "awesome" list of reputation. But if this is what you got into then I guess we have to work with it.

Since the programs speak for themselves in deficiency, I'll try and put a great spin on the areas.

I'd chose Champaign as the area is very nice and you are close to Chicago to fly places. NYC is horrible as your pay sucks and you work long hours and you live in horrible conditions. Ohio, well there is nothing wrong with Ohio except the snow and the rain.

1. University of Illinois- Champaign
2. Marshfield clinic, Wisconsin
3. University of Toledo , Ohio
4. Berkshire program, Pittsfield, MA
5. Staten island university hospital, NYC
6. Albert Einstein program, Wakefield campus, NYC

Hey , I appreciate your response. I don't get it why did you put university of Illinois at the top , its very small program. I don't think there is much scope of fellowship after completing residency there. Can you explain how is it better than the rest of the programs. I wanted to keep university of Toledo at the top since its a university program and has fellowships in all specialities. I ranked Staten island on the second number because it has some in house fellowships such as cardiology, heme oncology, and they are planning on starting GI fellowship soon. Even though its in new York, but its the highest paid program. They pay you around 62,000 in first year and 70,000 in third year.
And I am not sure about the rest of the programs at all. That's where I need help. I have absolutely no clue where do they stand in terms of reputation. But I would definitely like to rank the programs with some good reputation at the top. So University of Illinois, urbana, Berkshire program and Marshfield clinic were some of the programs with the happiest residents. But do you think that should be a criteria of ranking the programs on the top.

And these are for IM. I don't have any geographical limitations as long as I have some chances of fellowship

Hey safihai
Goodluck with the ranking & co. All I can tell you is to rank high, programs that have what you want which is fellowship & better salary. Other things I put in consideration when ranking is the volume and quality of cases I will be exposed to during residency & I read reviews of the program to see their quality from patients perspective. I don't understand why some of us try to avoid programs that have high workload? That's what makes you a better Dr & moreover, residency training is just 3yrs but it will shape your life.
That been said, can you please tell how the interview goes at Urbana Champagne? I'm interviewing there next week & will like to know what to expect.
Thanks

Hi Blade, I appreciate your response. University of Illinois conducts a vey chilled out interview. Its the most relaxing interview I have been to. You will be interviewed by the program director and two attendings. The interview is more like a friendly chat, about what you have been doing so far, your future goals. Wish you all the very best for it

1 more question pls;
Was it a group interview? If yes, was the dinner a group thing too and how did you dress for the dinner ie casual (jeans & t-shirt) or business like?
Thank you

It wasn't a group interview. Its always good to dress up a bit formal for the dinners, I mean no jeans and t-shirt. that would look way too casual.
