Default How the programs know my graduation year?

Hi,

Does someone know how the programs know our exact graduation year. Do they see the number in an application form or in the info from 186 Form?

My 186 form has been approved, but the 327A is still in process. I found my graduation year is listed in the Oasis website. Is this the source that our graduation year is defined?

Thank you for your time!

Id imagine it would be part of your ECFMG certification?

Info

if you have already graduated the graduation date will be stated on your final diploma (programs will be able to see the photocopy), If not graduated, you put your anticipated graduation date on application, all that matters is that you should be able to start PGY1 in July of Match year (be ECFMG certified and graduated).
ECFMG certificate is a document that proves that you have successfully passed step1,2,ck and has nothing to do with YOG from med school.

Thank you for this very informative reply but are you 100% positive about this because I graduated in Aug 2011, which is the same date listed on my Oasis website, but my medical diploma was issued on March 2012 . So if I apply in Sep 2015 will I be 4 or 5 years post graduation

since I had same actual graduation date as in diploma I had no issues of that nature. You might want to google around about your case. I know that during IVs PDs looked at printed ERAS application on their hands. Applicants fill out ERAS application form. ECFMG confirms that you are certified and student/graduate of med school from 186 form provided by your med school. This info is passed to ERAS/NRMP as verified. That way ECFMG provides info about your eligibility to participate in Match. Basically YOU fill out application, ECFMG simply verifies your eligibility, not your ERAS application. YOG that you filled on application and your diploma should match, if not you can explain your situation during IV. I would use later graduation date to your own advantage.
I might not be correct, i can't recall some things i knew. ECFMG/ERAS have good explanations on their web, you need to sit down and read, you will need to know for application season anyway. All the best!

The university diploma contains both dates. The first one is when the certificate was issued which is March 2012 and the other one, Aug 2011, is when the university council decided to grant me the MBBCh degree

Thnx for your reply

your graduation date is Aug, 2011, date of issue has no value in application process
