Default When to take the USMLE step 2 CS?

I am a fourth year medical student studying in London, UK. I am planning on participating in the 2014/2015 match and I am scheduling my USMLE step 2 CS examination. I would like my exam results to have been sent off to the programs that I am applying for before they begin opening applications. I was wondering, when do programs begin opening applications and looking at these examination results?

Thank you

ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application System, opens Sept 15.

It is definitely a good idea to plan on applying with the Step 2 CS result. Reporting of the CS results takes several months, and delays due to changes in the exam can and do occur. You will also need the result for ECFMG certification, which may or may not be another factor in the application of IMGs. (opinions on this vary)

If you want to apply next season I would advise you to schedule and take the exam as soon as possible.

(which is definitely manageable, especially as you study in an English-speaking country)

The best scenario would be to have all the results on sept 15th.
This link will show you the expected reporting date of CS

The last day so you would be ready before sept 15th would be july 12th.
