Default J1- Canadian Citizen

Can someone please enlist step-by-step guide for J1 for Canadian Citizens since there have been changes in the process as compared to last year?

I am also getting J1 from Canada. What changes do they have from last year?
I tried reading about the visa application process on ECFMG and Health Canada websites and it sems straightforward to me... unless there's something I'm missing

There is also this RCPSC Letter of Recognition of US training which is no longer required for statement of need this year. Instead one is required to provide "training program information from the ACGME website" as proof of accreditation.

I just wanted to be sure that Im not missing anything

Are you ECFMG certified yet? From my research, ECFMG certification is required prior to applying for J1 visa. If you are certified, do you know how long it takes for Canadians as I am in the same boat? I've heard it takes just 2 weeks for US grads but nearly a month for Canadians. Any truth to this?

ECFMG certificate arrives within a week through courier. I think that's same for everyone!

Regarding J-1, I'm myself not sure that how long it takes to be issued!

I was reading about the J1 and you'll have to coordinate with your teaching program liaison (TPL) for the application. I'm sure they'll be able to answer all of your questions. It's super confusing otherwise.

First thing's first though, you need to request a Statement of Need from Health Canada. You would most likely be Category B. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hcs-sss/hhr-r.../cat_b-eng.php

I posted a reply but since I posted a link to the Health Canada website, it's being moderated. You'll need a Statement of Need. Just google Statement of Need Health Canada. You'll have to apply to get one of those for J1 visa. You're most likely Category B.
