Listening 40 Years Old Registered Nurse, Do I have a chance?

Hi, Thanks in advance.

First, I am IMG, 40, >10 y from grad, RN for 8 y here in US, preparing x step 1, getting good scores on ?(usw and Kp), OK w/ English and $. Will get Kaplan 6 months, USW, and DIT courses (3 total) soon.
Do u honestly think I have any chance with Match?

Well, I don't know the answer but I definitely hope that you have a chance. I'm in a similar situation and I'm going for it!

It depends if you can have any sort of clinicals after you finish your step 1. The greater than 10 years post med school can be looked down upon specially in todays medical world.

If you get 99 in both steps and if you have some research experience, then you will be having good chances.

My biggest advice to you is to use your current job (RN) to get connections to get into residency. Try to reach program directors.

The best option for you would be to gain relevant hands on experience which will allow you to prove your strengths as a resident. While the familiarity of the healthcare system here in the US will certainly be a positive point in your application, the experience is not relevant for the challenges you will face in residency.

What specialty are you applying to and which Kaplan center are you located?

10000% match if you score 230 plus and dont fail a single exam. 10000% I said it first.
