Certificate Validity and Dating of LoRs

I have graduated in March 2010,,,recently gave my step one with 91 score..I wanted to know the process of LoRs as I am not applying this year ...means I can apply in September 2012
1) If i get a LoR right now would it be valid for 2013 match?
2) Are LoRs valid only up to 6 months?
3) Is it important to show the time frame in LoR,,,can't my professor simply write good credentials about me during my internship or on medical school performance

There's no rule about the expiration of LoR but it's recommended that the LoR is not more than one year old.

Yes, the LoR must be dated and the writer must mention the time frame during which he/she has supervised you.

OK...So it means there's no validity fr LoRs....and we must get LoRs only fr specialty we want ,,,not like getting LoRs from IM program as well as one for some other specialty

No, it is not a must. Any doctor can write you a lor even if he/she is from other speciality. But it is highly recommended to get lor from a doctor in the same speciality.
