Info Match 2012 and a Pregnant Applicant!

Dear friends,
I am taking my step 2 ck in June 9th and CK July 9th. From what I read the CS results take longer and will be available around Sept.
I have plans to apply for the match 2012. So, If I pass, do I still have chances to apply. ERAS is available in July to download, right?

Another question: If I am pregnant during the interview. How do you think it may affect my acceptance in the program?
I truly appreciate your help

I think if you write your CS in July, then the results will come Max in the first week of September. I don't think it should be a problem... But again, some rumors are there that programs stop downloading applications after the first few days...

As far as the second question... I think the programs won't be affected much by you being pregnant as long as you can work when it matters... You will be starting ur residency in July 2012 na...

All the best with your pregnancy... May God bless you with a wonderful child..

Arrow Pregnancy does affect the chances

Hi OTAV,

Your pregnant status does affect your chances even though they don't disclose it but most program directors do not prefer pregnant women or those who just had a baby.

I suggest you stress during the interviews that you are fully available and that there's somebody who's going to take care of your baby.

As for the timing of the CS, it's better that yoh have the results ready before the end of September, otherwise, your chances are very low. I've talked about that in details here

If you dont mind answering me this question: You mentioned about the ECFMG certificate. Do I have to ask for it ? Is it automatically sent?
So, I can download the eras by july start working on it and wait until mid september(when I should get my cs results) to apply? thie results and certificate come at the same time?
Thank you very ,very much!!!
