Embarrassed Chances of Stuttering Doctor into US residency

is there any chance for a doctor who stutters to get a residency ???i am a mild to moderate stutterer..preparing for step1.apart from tensions of exam,i have an added anxiety of whether i may get a job despite a stutter or m just wasting my time.....please give serious answers...thnx

Absolutely. I know someone recently got into general sugery residency. I would suggest that you let the interviewer know at the beginning of the interview.

In the interview don't act like its a big deal. Your stammering doesn't matter, however your low confidence level does.

Seriously, no one cares whether you stammer or not. Its just all in your head. Stop thinking about it. If you don't think about it, the PDs won't either. Best of luck

Essfer is right, dont consider it as big deal and an obstacle.
Why dont you try a therapy It is possible to improve and even irradicate it

some times some universities to show that they support all individuals with or without disability,or minority or from some underdeveloped countries, they actually accept such a students. as a courtesy or as humanitarian issue,
as of course urs is not that big problem. so never disability will be a reason to dump u! actually u can sue them if u find it was just because of that!

but every hospital website demands that they need resident with exceptioanal communication skills,a mild to moderate stammerer cant have that..so what you guys think.especially moderators
