Arrow Pediatrics Lowest Income and Orthopedics is the highest income in USA!

Very interesting graph has been posted in Medscape website

Here's the graph

Now we can understand why peds match is the easiest to get and why ortho and radiology are the toughest!

If you look at it $150 000 is not BAD.. I'd rather have that then $0

Gotta pay off those massive loans!

But u can do Pediatrics and after that maybe a sub speciality like Neonatal Intensive Care or something like that..., and earn more money..., so it's not so bad...

Thanks for Stats.
But I want to say that there are many other resources that have different numbers...I believe those resources other than one you put (medescape).
If you look at stats in that topic you will find Plastic is in the middle...this is false...Plastic surgeons may get more than Ortho docs.
Neurosurgery & Cardiac Surgery are highly payed specialities are not listed !!

From many resources I can say:

Neurosugery, Ortho, Cardiac Surgery & Plastics are in the same category
Cardio, Radio, Derma & pediatric Surgery in the same category
GI, General Surgery, Anaesthesia in the same category

*** these categories are not final...I compiled them from many resources

Internal medicine would be cardiology, pulmonology etc.
the subspecialities - they are listed. Plus I don't know why people are obsessed with income and money. I mean medicine is not all about the money guys. We are humanitarians.

I will never be discouraged by this post, I found it as an opportunity for IMG to get into residency in USA. I did Peds in my country and will keep on pursuing it here in US.

Thanks God I am never interested in surgery or any of its subspecialties
Pediatrics is my dream though I'm still considering IM for back up.
