Default Research LOR for Family Medicine?

I have a quick question, I have a lor from a good university hospital from doing research.

It recommends me to a general medicine residency position and nuthing in specific, so can i use that in family medicine as well?

Yes you can. LORs don't necessarily have to be for a specific speciality. As long as it is written well, showing who you are as a person and your capacity to be a good doctor in whatever residency program you choose to apply to.
FM programs like seeing recommendations from FM doctors and IM doctors, since it shows that the person applying has the ability to be a well rounded doctor in either one of these 2 specialities. On the other hand, surgery and other subspecialties residencies most definitely want at least one LOR from a doctor in the speciality you are choosing to apply to.

Hope this helps,
