Default Need your guidance

Hi guys!
Im an IMG studying in my first year in the SEA region. As you know, that means I have 5 years to complete my degree. I wanted to know if you could help me out with guidance as to how to spend these years most productively for preparing for the USMLE steps and eventually a US residency shot? I already know the basics. I do have some questions though

1) is foreign research work considered good? What about a foreign CE?
2) what scores would an IMG need to present to be considered competitive for G.S? Anesthesiology? And Radiology?

And any other advice you might deem helpful. Im willing to work on finding out more by myself as well, so dont worry about having to spoon-feed me :P any responses are welcome. And thank you for your contribution(s)!

MLEs = Usmles? Use first aid or kaplan series of textbooks, goljan for pathology. Any good biochem book will do for that subject.
