Canada Canadian experience instead?

Hi guys. I'm almost ready to apply this year, but I have no USCE. I'm from Toronto, and I have been looking for so many months now. But every option has one problem or another, and I don't really have the money to make it happen.

What if I apply with a month at a couple Canadian observerships instead? How much would it hurt my application?

Given the following info:

Img, YOG 2013, Step 2CK 219, Step 2CS passed first attempt, Step 1 taking on July 31 (inshaAllah), no USCE so far.

Should I go ahead and try to get a couple of Canadian observerships and LORs, or should I hold off and apply next year with more USCEs?

Not really sure on what to do. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

If you went to med school in Canada, you are not considered an IMG, don't worry, you will match

Thanks, but I didn't go to med school in Canada…so…yeah. I'm still wondering what to do.

I'm in that same boat as well. Will have a few electives in Canada at good universities but applying without USCE. Good marks but not great on both steps. Would like to know if anyone has a tip for chances or how to get better application?
