Listening Where to put my experience in ERAS; Research or Volunteer?

I have been an adhoc reviewer for several reputable medical journals, for example American journals and a main journal of the WHO. Since they werent paid, they'd classify as volunteer. I've searched every where online and only found somewhere where a program director told the person they can put it under volunteer experience or that they can put it under research experience in ERAS.
I've US research experience and US volunteer experience, so its not like either spot will be blank, just wondering which one will be to my benefit.

Put it in both!
Your wonderful experience can be classified as research and as volunteer.

The ERAS sections for Research and Volunteer are separate. So you can repeat the experience in both sections.

If you insist on choosing one of them, I pick research.

Thanks so much! Greatly appreciated! I didnt even think of putting in both.
I wont be applying till next yr, but I was just updating my CV and it dawned on me that I didnt know where they'd go in ERAS.

Its amazing, nothing on google, only people I can find that are ad hoc reviewers in medicine are established Drs, guess my masters helped. I would encourage folks to sign up, never know when you can be chosen by the journals to review an article, and only takes a few hours max, but has a lifetime effect on your CV.

Oh I also realized that Grants section is separate from Research in ERAS, based on what someone else posted online. I have a case where I had a research experience that was also an NIH grant with a 2mth clinical elective experience in one of the top 3 US medical institutions, so does that mean I can repeat it in 2 places:
Clinical Experience, Research (also got a poster/abstract out of it) and put name of Grant in the research section too (awarded by NIH).

Steptaker or anyone else, please let me know what you think.

Thanks so much!!

The Grant section is not separate from the research section. Rather it's part of the research description. So you can put you NIH experience in the research section and further descibe it as a grant.

Traditionally, all non paid activities go under volunteer even observerships, however as StepTaker said you can mention in both sections and have some fun!!
