Hey, bruh, congrats on passing CS! Not like there was any doubt I'm sure, but definitely a huge sigh of relief having it completely off your shoulders. Hope you celebrate this weekend.

I think the main reason behind rejections is residency application. Because it is the only way through interviewer judge your abilities and quality or if residency application statement is not impressive then chances of rejections is increased.

The program coordinator and a lot of others are at the ASA conference this weekend- think they're going back Wednesday, so I would wait until Thursday to hear from them.

Don't worry dude. You will definetly get soon. I spoke to a couple of friends and they were telling me that this is just the beginning of the season. Those ppl who got huge number of interviews like 20-24 got only about 1/3 in october and the rest later. so there are still a lot of places left.

" Thank you for applying to the Johns Hopkins Anesthesiology
program. I regret that all of our
interview positions have been offered. I
apologize and wish that we had the time and resources to meet each of you. If something opens up we will contact you.

The fact that you haven't been invited to our program at
this date doesn't mean you aren't going to be successful in the Match or an
excellent anesthesiologist . Based on last year's statistics your chances of a
successful match are still very high.

Good luck with your search and we will certainly contact you
if anything changes!

Sincerely,

Deborah Schwengel, MD

Program Director"

This is what I got..
But who is gonna cancel his or her interview from the best program in the world.
I do appreciate commitee members that they read my application at least.

Your application for a position in the Anesthesiology
program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital has been reviewed by our Admissions
Committee and you were not invited in our first round of invitations, however
we would like to place you on our wait list
The top of the wait list does often result in an interview but
preplanning becomes difficult. When an opening
becomes available we will either call or send email, depending on the interval
of time that we have to get you scheduled.

We will be conducting interviews on selected Mondays and
Tuesdays from November 3, 2014 through January 26, 2015. At 6:30 p.m., the evening before your
interview, you are invited to dinner with other applicants and a group of
current residents. The Department will
also provide you with one night's accommodations at a hotel in downtown
Baltimore. The interview day begins at
7:30 a.m. and runs approximately to 1:30 p.m.

You may be aware of the 2 advanced track positions we
offer: The Critical Care Scholars
Program (CCSP) and The Research Scholars Program (RSP). More information can be found about these
programs on our residency webpages.

The CCSP includes critical care fellowship training rolled
into residency, obviating the need for a separate fellowship application. Dr. Hartsell, our ICU fellowship director
will be available to meet with interested candidates on select interview dates.
I encourage you to speak with Andrea (Andy) Collins about this after you have
selected your interview date.

The RSP includes a research concentration that goes beyond a
normal residency research focus. We
encourage individuals interested in the RSP to alert us to your interest in
this program and speak with Andrea (Andy) Collins about this after you have
selected your interview date so that you can meet with our research faculty on
the day of your visit.

Although all of our anesthesiology positions are advanced
only, we offer up to eight “preferred intern (CBY + three years of clinical
anesthesia training) positions per year in conjunction with the Mercy Medical
Center / University of Maryland
(http://www.mercyresidency.org/details/index.html) or the Johns Hopkins
University / Sinai Hospital
(http://www.lifebridgehealth.org/sinaibody.cfm?id=79) Preliminary Year Training
Programs in Internal Medicine. If you
would like to be considered for one of these, please inform Andrea (Andy)
Collins at the time you schedule your visit so that she might arrange for a
tour and interview at Mercy and or Sinai.
A visit to Mercy and/or Sinai will extend your day past 5 p.m. and may
require a second day in Baltimore. In
addition, Baltimore is home to a number of other excellent internal medicine
and surgery programs, including one with the Johns Hopkins Department of
Internal Medicine. Links to some of the
other programs may be found at located at http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/anest.../residency.cfm. Applicants must submit separate applications
via ERAS and independently arrange for interviews at each program under
consideration. The Department will be
happy to help coordinate interview dates so as to minimize travel to and from
Baltimore.

Please schedule your interview using Interview Broker. If you need to speak with us about questions
or schedules outside of Interview Broker, please call Andy Collins at
410-955-7609/410-955-7615 or 1-800-926-6796.
I look forward to your visit.

PLEASE consider canceling early if you need to decline
invitation. There are many other
qualified candidates who would like the spot.
If we do not hear from you we will assume you are not interested.

In the meantime, if you have questions or comments we welcome your email and will do our best to respond to your inquiry.

Sincerely,

Deborah Schwengel, MD
Program Director

The fact that you haven't been invited to our program at
this date doesn't mean you aren't going to be successful in the Match or an
excellent anesthesiologist . Based on last year's statistics your chances of a
successful match are still very high.

Good luck with your search and we will certainly contact you
if anything changes!

Got the same thing. Also got an almost IV to Jefferson.

I got the same message from Hopkins, and the "almost" at Jefferson Medical College. Are these real waitlists, or super nice rejections? Haha!

IV North Shore LIJ, but thalamus is broken and I can't schedule it.

But i got a transitional year at Lincoln and a prelim at Berkshire . so not a bad day at the end eh.
