I heard that programs are facing problem with the sh*tty ERAS so they are postponing the review process + only today can they view the MSPE (though not sure how influential this paper might be!)
I heard Oct is the main month of IV and Rej.
Stay +ve ppl! Good luck to you all dear neurologists!

I also got my first one from NY. Sounds like they have to officially wait for MSPE release before inviting for IVs.
Hope the best for everyone else.

Neuro programs: No iv, no rej so far. Only ack from tufts. Pretty silent….

Preliminary programs: iv from metropolitan and ack from lincoln. Pretty silent as well!..

Damn it's so stressful!

I got my second IV from Northwestern. It seems Oct 1 was an important day (may be linked to MSPE release). But IV notices have just started coming. So be patient and hopeful guys.

It depends on software that they use to retrieve and process applications.

One program even emailed to me and said that they have some problems with software and hence postpone review process.

I have a pretty interesting CV. I graduated in 2004, got my M.S in physical electronics in 2005, received PhD in 2007 and since then I have been working at NIH as a postdoctoral fellow. Total 12 pubmed cited publications, 7 first author posters, and one oral talk at SfN.

step 1: 237 - 1st attempt,
2CK: 234 - 1 st attempt,
2CS: 1st attempt.

I have some USCE. although it is not hands on CE, just shadowing neurologist at outpatient clinic. The weakest point of my application is my year of graduation.

I have applied for advanced and categorical neurology programs in university hospitals only as well as for preliminary year in IM in both universities and communities hospitals.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my chances to match on Advanced and categorical neurology residencies and preliminary year IM.

I thought that for these advanced programs could also apply people who are currently on PGY1 in preliminary year in IM. They usually start directly from PGY2. Some programs have these openings if they did not find the resident during the first match or if they were unable to get visa for someone etc.

I am currently on H1b visa. Have applied for green card but it is pending now for uncertain period due to business or immigration centers at this time. I would like to get at least EAD but January. So, hopefully, I would not need visa if everything would go smoothly.

I got an interview from Drexel and similar rejections from Vanderbilt and University of North Carolina. I have not applied for Wake Forest and OSU. They probably send rejections now after the pre-screen. And would decide who they would invite for the interview later. Thanks for sharing.

Default IVs

Hey guys, so far I have got 3 ivs and 2 rejections and few acknowledgments all from IM programs that I have applied to.Nothing for neuro.
I am now wondering whether i ever will get anything from neurology as i am yet to receive any acknowledgements from them. I applied only to categorical positions and I know its tough!!!!!!!
Anyone with similar credentials have got any Iv from neuro?

Yes, I did receive this

At this time, your application is being held for a second review in order for us to give it more careful consideration. Another email will be sent to you as soon as the second review is completed.

I guess this just means that me and you were not rejected by filters.

I got it too. At first i thought it was a sort of rejection. But then, reading it carefully, it is definatly a sort of ack: "your application is being held for a second review".

I had randomly applied for 30 IM residency(Mostly those without prelims as my plan B), and so far received 3 IVs for categorical IM from Bronx-lebanon, lincoln and Wayne state (Despite my application and LORs are highly Neuro oriented).
Also 1 Prelim IV from Greater baltimore medical center.
For Neuro, IV from Albert-einstein. Also rejections from Yale & UAB today.

I still believe many neurology programs have not started sending out IVs to IMGs and most IVs will come late october to early november. So keep heart and best of luck to all of us!

Honestly I do not know.
Only some of IM thread is active today. Looks like, in general, a slow day.

Opps.
I thought today is holiday! Looks like they are active for rejections too.
Personally, I have lots of rejections, no interviews yet.
You are not alone!

Hi Cricles,

You can add to my credentials that I am on H1b visa now but have applied for green card if it would make a difference. It would be also nice to highlight IV in bold as you did before. Thanks

Default "silent rejection"

I applied to Arkansas too but got no rejection. Does that mean a "silent rejection"

Listening

I had a weird communication with Emory University neurology program today. First they sent me an interview invitation and asked for fill, scan and return one form. Later they send the second email in which they explained that I was mistakenly given an interview and told me that they would put me to the waiting list.

Has anyone had any feedback from Emory? Official interview invitation, rejection, or mention about placement to the waiting list?

Thank you in advance for consideration and help.
