Question The value of Dean Letter or MSPE for IMGs!

I wanted to know does a dean letter MSPE hold any value or its just a protocol..
I have heard that PDs don't even look at it,,,does this means it's just a paper work and doesn't carry any weight??
Like if u have got good grades in your school does it make any difference or a dean letter which praises u highly doesn't make any difference ??? It's all about USCE and scores and even some connections?

Yes in most residency programs, the dean letter/MSPE and your medical school performance does not carry much weight.

At all times, your USMLE scores, USCE, and US LoRs have higher impact.

This is of course only in the case of the IMG.

For AMGs, the MSPE and medical school performance is extremely important even more important than the USMLE scores.

MSPE from an International school is not worth the ink that is used to write it/print it.

we need to get it as part of the package (and pay freaking DHL and posting services money to send it) and it does not help one bit

for an IMG: anything other than USMLE exams, meaningful papers/abstracts/research, LoR FROM US is UNHELPFUL (Lor from our countries, electives outside US, and MSPEs) sad but true
